As it is possible to download news (new posts), audio or video files from an internet site one by one it is much easier to use a piece of software to take care of that. The software will check if there are new episodes available and keeps all files organized in one place.
And it will of course also check , whether your student page has been updated, so you don’t have to visit FIM-Jakarta to find out…
Too many of these ‘podcatchers’ or ‘news-aggregators’ are out there to list them all. So here is a selection of those we prefer. All these are for free and ‘tested’ by thousands of users. Click on the icons to download any one of them:

A podcast is like a radio or TV-like show that you download from the internet.
You might listen to or watch a podcast on your computer or on your MP3 player - which might be your HP from Nokia or Sony or…
A podcast is really “WWW”: whenever, whatever, where ever, so unlike commercial TV or radio stations you don’t have to tune in at a certain time and it’s up to you where and what you want to listen/watch to.
And, best of all, you don’t even have to know, when the show will be aired. You subscribe to a podcast like to your newspaper and every new episode will be delivered right to your footstep -uh- computer when it’s ready to download. One click and you got it.. that’s convenience!
The great thing of podcasts is not just that you can easily get it, but the wide range of topics you can choose from:
Want to learn how to cook?
There is a podcast out there for you.
Want to study at Harvard but mind the heavy fee?
Get their podcasts for free!
Interested in the latest fashion trends?
Try the podcasts video shows of the fashion magazines.
More in cars and technique..?
There are hundreds of podcasts out there.
Whatever subject you might think of, there is a great chance, that there is a podcast waiting for you to discover.
But the real beauty of a podcast is not just that you can listen to it anywhere anytime…. as good as that is.
No, the best part is the amazing spectrum of content that is available out there waiting for you to discover it.
All you need to enjoy podcasts is a piece of software. We will have a look to that in one of our next posts.
Meanwhile, why not go for a little window shopping for podcasts?
Just google with the search words “podcast” along with the topic you’re interested in, and you’ll be surprised at what you’ll find!
Or have a look to 8954 podcasts with 311456 episodes at Podcastpickle for getting an idea…
