Inquisitor is another reason to use modern browsers like Safari or Firefox. It adds some functionality to Safari when searching the Internet. Specify the search engine -Google, Yahoo etc.- you like to use in the “Preferences” menu of Safari. The download (just 390k) is for free.
Inquisitor… it’s like Spotlight for the web.
Start typing and websites pop up immediately, along with ideas to refine your search.
It’ll autocomplete your words (is it reading your mind?) and you can add more search engines to Safari with customized keyboard shortcuts.
Oh, and it’s free.

Voluminous 1.0.5 (Shareware) finds free, public-domain books on the Internet, downloads them, formats them for easier reading, and manages the collection. Offering more than 20,000 books from the outset, including many famous plays, novels, poetry and reference works, new titles are added to the catalogue regularly. Voluminous also includes a variety of ways to pick out the titles you want: search by title or author instantly, or browse the topic catalogue, based on the Library of Congress classification scheme.
Some of the titles: War of the Worlds (H.G.Wells - see the Steven Spielberg movie starring Tom Cruise), Beowulf (if you’re not faint-hearted see the movie), Frankenstein (Mary Shelley), The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Washington Irving, movie starring J.Depp) and many more from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes) to Sun Tzu (The Art of War). A free trial of the software is available.
