Tagesschau
Tagesschau is one of the oldest German News Programmes. Subscribing to this podcast you can stay always updated about what happens in the world, seen from the German point of view. And therefore, of course, it’s in German language. Minutes after the show was aired at 8:00 PM CET, you can download the news to watch it on your computer or on your iPod. Compared to other German News Programmes, Tagesschau is still held in the classic and conventional format. However, it is complete with German as well as European and world news overviews.
But there is one critique that I have to share. The news anchor man is reading the text from his paper in front of him. Where are the teleprompters that are commonly used? Sadly it also affects the voice of the anchor man as he looks up and down all the time. Anyhow, Tagesschau stays Tagesschau, nobody can kill the classic news programme of the ARD (Germany’s broadcast station).

Hi,
this is my report about three podcasts which I subscribed to using the iPod and iTunes.
I’m quite familiar with Apple, I’m using a Mac notebook, the ‘Macbook’. Before that, I started using an iPod since the first generation of Nanos. I must admit, Apple’s product has made my life easier.
For me, this is the thinnest iPod Nano ever, it has an accelerometer, which allows the screen to rotate according to the way you hold your iPod, horizontal or vertical. The power of iTunes allows you to simplify the synchronization of your music, photos, movies, even of your address book.

The first podcast was “Learn Spanish with Coffee Break” Spanish lesson 8. This podcast teaches us how to learn Spanish in a relaxing way. Teacher Mark presents Coffee Break Spanish and Kara, the student, will accompany you. This podcast has a weakness; it doesn’t show the words on screen thus I had difficulty to learn from this. For someone who learns a foreign language at beginner level, it’s critical to read the words. The tempo was quite good, not too fast. The pronunciations in English were good and I was able to listen to it.

Where to buy analogue black and white film?
Filed Under New | 2 Comments

We would like to buy black and white 35mm film for our old photo camera. Does anybody know where to buy this? We need 400 ASA film made by KODAK (Tri-X, 400 TX) or FUJIfilm (Neopan 400) or ILFORD (HP 5). If you know a shop which carries one of these films, please leave a comment or email. Thank you!

Fated to Love You
Filed Under XLR Asian Movie Reviews | 2 Comments
Category: K-drama series (24 episodes)
Genre: Romantic Comedy
XLR Rating:
Chen Xin Yi has been unnoticed by people around her all her life. Firstly, her mum was going to abort her. Then she has always been at the bottom of her mother’s priority list. At work, she is the most helpful but bullied person. Everyday, her colleagues give order to her to do OB’s work like buying coffee or lunch. Then she also often does overtime work at weekends, doing other people’s duties. Unfortunately, after doing all good things to others, her colleagues never pay her attention nor care for her feelings and wants.

Tari HipHop
Filed Under New | Leave a Comment
Untuk proyek kerjasama Jerman-Perancis-Vietnam ini, Sébastien Ramirez dan Raphael Hillebrand bekerjasama dengan 11 seniman dari Hanoi.
Seorang penari wanita dan 8 penari pria – di antaranya ada yang berusia 12 tahun – berasal dari gerakan HipHop Hanoi dan termasuk dari 3 kelompok yang berbeda (Big Toe, Milky Way dan Sacred Crew). Perbendaharaan tari mereka meliputi Bboying/Bgirling sampai Popping. Walau mereka tak mendapat pendidikan khusus untuk balet tradisional, tetapi gerakan-gerakan dasar tari balet tidaklah asing buat mereka.

Ika’s report on her iPod test-drive

First, I subscribed to business English pod (www.businessenglishpod.com)
It is about learning English. It gives you some topic to learn, for example the latest one is about business English vocabulary related to accounting. The Business English pod provides the short courses by audio (voice only) or audio video (it shows some pictures or video).
The course is formed as a speech. So there are a man and a woman explaining the lesson or sometimes they make a conversation, which is part of an explanation or kind of an example in that lesson.
It is more interesting when you download the video, because you don’t only listen the vocabulary but it also shows you how to write the vocabulary. The new vocabulary (the word focused on) is written in red color, so you can easily differentiate it from other words.
